Mark Your Calendar: May 20th

Concert at Faith Benefits Ukrainian Humanitarian Relief Efforts

Join the Ukrainian community for a special evening celebrating Ukrainian culture. “War, Culture and Music,” a benefit concert to raise money for humanitarian support for Ukraine, is set for 4-7 p.m., Saturday, May 20, in the sanctuary.  Mark your calendar, and please plan to attend.

Since Russia attacked Ukraine, thousands of people have been killed, and millions have fled the war zone. Hundreds of cities, towns and villages have been wiped out. It is only thanks to the courage of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, coupled with generous military, technical and financial support provided by the USA and other allies, that Ukraine withstands the aggression and is able to resist.  But the people of Ukraine need ongoing assistance.

Dr. Taras Filenko, a noted Ukrainian scholar and pianist, will perform a wide range of music by Ukrainian composers and will speak about Ukrainian music, culture, history, and the ongoing war.

Nataliya Bratash, a Ukrainian vocalist and graduate of the International University of Art and Culture in Kyiv, will sing Ukrainian folk songs.
